Comparing Smart Assistants: Google vs Alexa vs Siri [Infographics]

Technology

A smart assistant is a virtual robot that resides in your smartphone. You can ask it do to tons of things for yourself like ask it to sing a poem for you and it will happily do so. Ask it to order something for you and it can even order something for you from Amazon. These days these smart assistant also come in the smart devices which are meant to be at home and they are meant for stuff like switching on lights at home and also other stuff in automated things.

At present there are a total of 3 smart assistant that are competing against each other, they are Amazon’s Alexa, Google assistant and Apple’s Siri. All three of them come in different devices and also the best part about them is that since they are based on artificial intelligence that actually means that the more you use them, the more they learn about you and hence it keeps getting better with time. They are usually alerted by using a command that acts as a cue. Once they listen to the cue, they are ready to listen to the commands.

Another interesting thing about them is that they all work on the same thing. They just differ when it comes to protocols. Their working is even more interesting. Like when you utter any sentence after alerting the assistant. The very first thing it does is to break the whole sentence in smaller parts, it dissects and then send the small packets to server. At the server there is an algorithm that closely analyzes the query and tries to frame the best possible response for that query. Once that is done then you get a framed response in terms of a voice command.
